Homeward Bound

Quick trip but we are both ready for home! A lot more drinking and food than either of us is used to! I always joke that we are vacation alcoholics... First we had to stop at the Fargo Moorehead Visitors Center to get my free t-shirt and see the original wood chipper from the move Fargo. I am thinking we need to watch the movie again now. One quick stop on the road at Jimmy John's for a quick lunch in Watertown and made it home in time for a good nap and then pick up the puppy. Ready to get back to real life for a while. But another great getaway with my favorite travel partner!

Eat, Drink, Repeat

No breakfast at the hotel, which Kurt complained about even though he never wants to eat free breakfast at the hotel, so we went to Randy's University Diner. Main reason I wanted to go is they have coffee cake as option versus the usual toast with your breakfast. I had a meat lovers skillet with my coffee cake and was good. Not the best I've had but good. Had to get a box and of course my favorite - malted milk balls as they had the big ones like I like. Kurt got a white chocolate bar, his favorite. The Chippers are okay, the malted milk balls excellent! Next we went to Hjemkomst Center. This is the home of Hjemkomst Viking Ship. Back in the 70s a guidance counselor, Bob Asp, decided to build a replica Viking ship and sail it to Norway. Nothing crazy there right??? He spent 8 years building this ship. A couple years i...

Fargo Bound

Kurt and I were in need of a getaway but didn't want to travel too far from home. So while most people go to the Caribbean in March we headed for Fargo... Trip started off a little shaky when we went to drop off Buddy at his temporary home and I realized my credit card is missing. Went back home and searched to no avail. Pulled up my activity and the last place I used it was the grocery store. Gave them a call and sure enough I had left it there. Crisis averted! After a quick stop to pick up my card we were on the road to Fargo. We had thought about taking the back roads but let's be honest - this drive isn't about the scenery. The fields look the same at 80 on the interstate as they do at 60 on the backroads. So we opted for the freeway.  Stopped in Watertown for lunch. I got a Minnesota Hop Passport for myself and there a few places in SD and IA included and a couple breweries in Watertown were in there. So not only do I get a stamp in my passport but you get a 2 for 1 b...
