Salem Day Three - Sunday, October 6

Another great night of sleep and another breakfast by Holly! I am really starting to get used to this!

Went to church with Holly this morning and met some of her friends afterwards. She seems to have found some great ones! Was good to see the number of young adults and how they all hung around afterwards just to chat, usually it seems it's the older folks hanging around and the young ones out the door.

After church we met her friend, Em, for lunch at TapRoot Cafe and Lounge. It was a funky little place back downtown. I am pretty sure our waitress was high but that just adds to the ambiance, right? I had the Chipotle Ranch Tacos - so yummy! Got to know Em, an amazing young woman. She is helping to get a camp going for adults with disabilities. They were devasted by a fire a few years back and are trying to rebuild. Holly said she is a recreation director but it sounds like she does a little bit of everything!

After lunch went back to Holly's to change clothes and headed back to out to play some Pickleball! Dee and I have never played before. We drove all over town to find a pickleball court. At one park they were building some but they were not done. The only place was a Pickleball club that was indoors and charge for entry. So we ended up back at the first park we had gone to. They had the lines for Pickleball but no nets. I guess you need to supply your own. So we just lined up our sweatshirts for the next and figured it was better than nothing. Lucky for us a gentleman was there to play with some friends came over and told us he had an extra net in his car. So he set that up for us. Thank you kind stranger!!! So we played Dee and I against Holly just for practice and get the rules down. Then we took turns playing each other. What a fun way to spend a gorgeous afternoon! I hate to admit it but I think Dee was the big winner...

On the way home we decided we earned a treat so stopped at Dutch Bros for smoothies.  Holly had to work the next morning so after packing her lunch we sent her off to bed. Thank you so much Holly, you were an awesome hostess! I had the greatest time!!! Dee and I ended the evening with some bananagrams and Racko.
